Technology Transfer

ATRC has developed diverse programs to transfer assistive technology to the private sector, government, and the academic research community. This broad-based approach to technology transfer fosters the creation of programs to meet new challenges and changing client needs.

The Center works with state, regional, and local economic development organizations, research centers, and coalitions to enhance Ohio's economic climate and improve its competitiveness in the world marketplace.

Companies and individuals can use various ATRC resources as appropriate. The Center provides technical consulting, access to computer facilities and special assistive systems, laboratory interaction, and specific technical services at low cost. Such assistance helps both industrial firms and start-up businesses reduce costs and increase efficiency in today's globally competitive marketplace.

To help enhance and extend its technical resources, the Center welcomes visiting scientists and engineers from industry, academic institutions, and government laboratories. These researchers have access to ATRC personnel and facilities while they pursue assistive technology related research interests and technology transfer activities.

To disseminate research results and technical information in timely fashion, the Center sponsors conferences, workshops, seminars, demonstrations and special events, and publishes technical reports, and informational materials.
