Dr. Parikh joined the faculty at Wright State University as an Assistant Professor in February, 2009. Dr. Parikh received his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the M. S. University of Baroda, India in 2001 and M.S. degree in Systems Science from Binghamton University (S.U.N.Y.) in 2002. He graduated with a doctoral degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) in 2006.
Prior to joining Wright State, Dr. Parikh was a member of the Science Team (Global R&D) at Manhattan Associates, Inc., a leading supply chain software company in Atlanta, GA. At Manhattan Associates, he was involved in developing solutions to challenging problems in supply chain using operations research techniques.
Dr. Parikh is interested in applying operations research methodologies to solve real-world problems. Specifically, he employs methodologies such as Mathematical Programming (linear, integer, and mixed-integer), Markov Chains, Order Statistics, Simulation, Meta-Heuristics, and Soft Computing. His past and current research is focused in the area of Supply Chain/Logistics (i.e., warehousing, transportation, and inventory management), Workforce Scheduling, Resource Planning, Manufacturing, and Health-Care. Dr. Parikh teaches courses in the areas of operations design, facility layout and location, material handling, warehousing, supply chain management, and manufacturing systems.
Dr. Parikh has published in several reputed journals such as IIE Transactions, IEEE Transactions on Robotics, European Journal of Operations Research, Transportation Research, International Journal of Production Research, and International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology. He has presented his research at numerous research conferences and universities. He is a member of IIE and INFORMS. His biography appears in several Who's Who listings
Dr. Parikh welcomes undergraduate and graduate students interested in pursuing research related to the above topics.
