Dr. Skipper joined the Wright State faculty as an assistant professor in July 2003. She received her B.S. in Biomedical Engineering (1981) and her Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences (Medical Physics and Engineering tract)( 2003) from Wright State University. She teaches courses in photon radiation, medical imaging, computed tomography, medical image processing and engineering biophysics. Her research focuses on diagnostic medical physics, with emphasis on dual-energy radiographic absorptiometry, dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry and quantitative computed tomography for the assessment of bone and bone-related diseases. Additionally, she is interested in modeling and performance evaluation of radiation detector systems.
Dr. Skipper is a member of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine and Tau Beta Pi. She serves as a referee for journals, including Medical Physics and Physics in Medicine and Biology.
