Innovation and Entrepreneurship in High Technology
This certificate is offered by the College of Engineering and Computer Science in conjunction with the Raj Soin College of Business at Wright State University.
Purpose:
The purpose of this Certificate Program is to enhance the technical expertise and business acumen of undergraduate students, regardless of professional pursuit.  Upon completion of this Certificate Program, graduates will be knowledgeable about the technical processes that drive innovation and possess the business skills required of entrepreneurs.
Admission and Program Requirements:

This Certificate Program will be available to all junior and senior undergraduate students who are in good academic standing.  Eligible students must:

  • Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • Formally apply to the Certificate Program
  • Interview with the Certificate Program's Director (or his representative)
Courses:
  • Technology-Based Ventures - ISE/HFE/CEG XXX - (4 credit hours)
  • Engineering Economics - ISE 481 - (4 credit hours)
  • Entrepreneurial Business Basics - ECON XXX - (4 credit hours)
  • Strategic Management - MGT 499 - (4 credit hours)
  • Team Project - ISE 499 - (4 credit hours)
  • Seminar Series - ISE 499 - (4 credit hours)
 
 
Lean - Ergonomics for Manufacturing
This certificate will be offered by the College of Engineering and Computer Science.

Purpose:

The purpose of this Certificate Program is to enhance the technical expertise in Ergonomics and Lean Manufacturing.  Upon completion of this Certificate Program, the graduates will be knowledgeable in the utilization of Ergonomics and lean Manufacturing methods in industrial environments.
Admission and Program Requirements:

The Certificate Program will be available to students with degree and non-degree status.  These courses will be available to in-class as well as distance students.

  • Industrial Ergonomics - HFE 607 - (4 credit hours)
  • Advanced Industrial Ergonomics - HFE 745 - (4 credit hours)
  • Kaizen/Lean Manufacturing - HFE 744 - (4 credit hours)
