Masters of Science

Industrial and Human Factors Engineering, Advanced Courses Option

Degree candidates must plan a program of study that satisfies degree requirements and meets individual educational needs and career objectives. The program of study must be prepared in consultation with an advisor since there may be additional requirements or constraints based on the student's particular area of concentration. The program of study must be finalized by the time the student completes 12 credit hours of graduate study.

In compliance with the requirements of the School of Graduate Studies, the following requirements must be met for the M.S. degree in engineering:

Completion of 45 graduate credit hours in courses that have prior approval by the Department.

  1. At least 36 of the total graduate credit hours must be engineering or computer engineering courses. At least 24 of these must be engineering courses.
  2. At least 24 of the 36 graduate credit hours of engineering and computer engineering must be courses numbered above 700, from the BIE Department.
  3. At least 6 of the total 45 graduate credit hours must be courses in mathematics, statistics, or computer science.
