Braille

Refreshable Braille
Refreshable Braille displays are located at the lower edge of the standard computer keyboard or on the bottom of a portable notetaker. Refreshable Braille allows the blind and the deaf-blind to read the material that appears on the computer monitor. Refreshable Braille displays lift small pins as needed to form Braille characters. After a line is read, the user can "refresh" the display in order to read additional lines. These displays usually come in 20, 40, 65 or 80 Braille cells. Some products offer two dimensional Braille output or multiline output.

Braille Embossers (Printers)
Braille Embossers print 6-dot or 8-dot Braille on paper or other materials. Most print Grade-2 Braille either on one side of the paper or on both sides of the paper (called Interpoint). The speed at which the printer produces the characters is measured in characters per second. Some also provide speech output.
