MATLAB and Simulink Seminar - November 3
Please join The MathWorks for a complimentary MATLAB and Simulink seminar on Tuesday, November 3, at the Student Union, Room E157 on the Wright State University campus.
Simulink for Model-Based Design of FPGAs and DSPs at Wright State University

--Agenda--
Presenter: Shyam Yadati, Application Engineer
The seminar will address Simulink for Model-Based Design in the context of FPGA implementation and verification. Using Simulink for Model-Based Design can shorten the design cycle of embedded systems and hardware products. Once a design is verified in simulation, we demonstrate the path to HDL implementation including validation and verification tools and techniques. By offering a unified environment to explore design tradeoffs, and eventually to implement and verify a design on target hardware, including DSPs and FPGAs, you will be able to design in weeks what normally takes months.
During this seminar, you will explore how integrated tools from The MathWorks can help you to:
- Model complex signal processing applications
- Design, simulate, and prototype complete signal processing systems
- Use an integrated design flow from system-level design to hardware implementation on DSPs and FPGAs.
1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
From Concept to Implementation – Model Based Design for FPGAs
- Learn how The MathWorks and FPGA tools can be used to help accelerate prototyping in FPGAs. The session will cover:
- Value of Modeling in Simulink
- Fixed-Point Implementation
- Developing Hardware Friendly Architectures
- Generating HDL
- HDL Verification through Software and Hardware Co-Simulation
2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Deeper dive topics for attendees seeking additional understanding:
- Exploring Fixed Point capabilities of Simulink
- HDL Code Generation
- Targeting Xilinx FPGA’s with Xilinx System Generator
