Why Choose WSU?

The College of Engineering and Computer Science at Wright State is one of the best kept secrets. With approximately 16,000 undergraduate and graduate students, we provide the opportunities one would expect at a large university, while maintaining the student-centered environment you would expect from a much smaller school. We offer outstanding programs that prepare our graduates for future success and we stand behind their success with an Employment Guarantee. In addition, we provide:

Competitive Tuition

The tuition for undergraduate students living in Ohio is approx. $6,500 annually. The room and board costs are approximately $6,000 per year for the typical plan. Students can expect to spend about $900 per year on books and supplies. Total cost for a student living on campus is around $12,800 annually.

Excellent Location

Wright State is located in Fairborn, Ohio, a suburb 12 miles northeast of Dayton. We are also located right next to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. There are many opportunities for jobs and research collaboration because of its close proximity to campus. The Dayton area is also home to companies like LexisNexis, NCR, Standard Register, and many more. Students have the opportunity to work with these companies as a part of our co-op program.

Outstanding Facilities

Wright State has excellent facilities in all senses of the word. We have several residential facilities on campus including the Engineering and Computer Science Community housed in Hamilton Hall, a community specially designed for incoming CECS students. The Russ Engineering Center offers modern labs, a student study lounge, wireless capabilities, plus the building is open 24/7 to always meet student needs. The College will open the new Krishan and Vicky Joshi Research Center in August 2006. The Joshi Center will house state-of-the-art labs, conference facilities, as well as daytaOhio.

ABET Accreditation

All the degree programs in the College of Engineering and Computer Science are ABET Accreditated, which means you can be assured of the highest quality educational programs available.
