The Internet and Privacy Legislation: Cookies for a Treat?: Cookies are a substantial danger to the users of this century because it allows direct access to web servers to transfer information and store them in the user's computer whenever he visits a particular website. The web server doesn't ask for the permission of the user for storing this information on his computer and whenever the user visits the same page the user information is transferred to the web page because of the information stored in the form of a cookie. The paper explains the laws passed with regard to cookie and how the direct marketing companies can take advantage of these cookies to promote user specific products.
