Objective
The objective of this minor is to provide
students who have a background in engineering or
science with a structured and coherent
concentration of study in computer science. The
program consists of 24 quarter hours covering a
basic introduction to computer science, data
structures, and an application area chosen from
operating systems, software engineering, or
database management systems.
Admission requirements
Students must have a 2.5 GPA or higher.
Student Performance
Students must complete all required minor courses with
a GRADE OF C or higher.
Required Courses
- One year sequence of introductory programming: 12 hrs
(CS 240, CS 241, CS 242) or (CEG 220, CEG 221, CS 242)
- Linux and Windows: CEG 233 4 hrs
- Data Structures and Algorithms: CS 400 4 hrs
One of the following elective courses
- Introduction to Data Base Management: CS 405
- Operating Systems: CEG 433
- Software Engineering: CEG 460
Application Procedures
Students should complete the University form Application
for Entering a Dual Major/Double Degree Program or Adding
a Minor and send it to the Department of Computer
Science and Engineering.
