Biography:
Dr. Amer is Professor of Materials Science and Engineering, and an Alexander von Humboldt Fellow at the Max Planck Society, Germany. Dr. Amer also served as a Visiting Fellow, Fitzwilliam College, University of Cambridge. He received a Ph.D. in Materials Engineering from Drexel University in 1995, published over 40 archived publications, advised over 18 Ph.D. and M. Sc. students, and serves as editorial board member for a number of international journals. Dr. Amer was invited to give over 25 lectures in national and international scientific institutions.
Research Interests:
Raman and Brillouin spectroscopy, phase transitions in mesoscopic
systems, and ultra-thin films.
