Dr. Ramana Grandhi
Dr. Ramana Grandhi received his Ph.D. from Virginia Polytechnic Institute. He joined the Wright State University faculty in 1984 as assistant professor and was promoted to the rank of professor in 1993.  Currently, Dr. Ramana Grandhi is the distinguished professor of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at Wright State University, where he directs 20 researchers in addition to teaching engineering classes. His research interests are in multidisciplinary analysis and optimization, probabilistic mechanics, and metal forming. He is the author of over 130 technical journal papers. He is a Fellow of ASME and of AIAA. His new textbook, “Reliability Based Structural Design,” was published by Springer in 2006. He is also a member Phi Kappa Phi, Tau Beta Pi, and Pi Tau Sigma honor societies.

Dr. Ravi Penmetsa
Dr. Ravi Penmetsa joined the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering as an Assistant Professor in January 2003. He received his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from the Andhra University, India, and his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Wright State University. Much of his research focused on developing uncertainty quantification techniques that would enable analytically certification of complex nonlinear-systems. Dr. Penmetsa is the author of several conference and archival journal papers, and is a member of ASME and AIAA.

Dr. Vipperla Venkayya
Dr. Vipperla B. Venkayya is a senior scientist with 36 years experience at the AFRL. Dr. Venkayya is an in-house researcher, programme manager, consultant, mentor and a technical leader in planning and evaluating complex technology development projects. His research interests are in the areas of finite element analysis, aeroelasticity and multidisciplinary optimisation of flight vehicle structures.
