ME 464/664 Homework

All homework is due on Friday in the ME department office by the close of business. You may alternatively turn it in during class. Homework assignments are listed by week assigned.

  1. Read Chapter 1 (should be review from prerequisite courses)

  2. 4.43 - but presuming that there is slop in the gears (e.g. the gear can jiggle). Note that there are two DOFS now. I will cover how to understand this problem on Monday in class.

Simulation of problem 4.43 with a dead zone between the rack and pinion. (due Friday of week 7)
Complete simulations of dry friction model (due Friday of week 7)
Chapter 5: 9, 11, 13, 32 (use simulink - plot ydot versus y)
