SAE Aero Design East Competition 2009
The 2009 SAE Aero Design competition was in Acworth, Georgia, at the Cobb County Radio Control Modeler’s Club. There were 43 entries in the Regular class, which is the class that WSU competed in this year. Our team was comprised of some incredibly motivated freshman. They worked tirelessly on their prototypes and the result was a very impressive aircraft that carried nearly 17 lb of lead at the contest. Our team scores (design report, presentation and flight score) netted us an eleventh place finish, which I was very happy with. Thanks to Zack Hafner, Alex Feist and Amber Warren for all of their hard work. I’d also like to thank Mr. Mark Feist for his help both before and during the contest.
