Krishnaprasad Thirunarayan (T.K.Prasad)
Professor

Prasad joined Wright State University after receiving a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the State University of New York at Stony Brook  in 1989. His doctoral dissertation is entitled "The Semantics of Inheritance Networks." He also has an M.E. in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Science at Bangalore, and a B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology at Madras. His research interests are in  Semantic Analysis of Social, Text and Sensor Data using AI/ML/NLP, Web 3.0, and Trust. His teaching interests are in Information Retrieval/Extraction, Algorithms, Knowledge Representation and Reasoning, and Programming Languages.

Recently, Prasad won the 2023 Wright State University Trustees' Award for Faculty Excellence (the highest award conferred by WSU upon a faculty member). Prasad has also won the 2014-2015 (and 2007-2008) College of Engineering and Computer Science Outstanding Faculty Awards, 2011 Indian International Conference on AI Achievement Award, and 2011 Fritz J. Russ Award from Dayton Section of the IEEE.
