Confirmation vs. Validation

Confirmed: Teams that are confirmed have assembled valid teams according to the rules and have valid email contact.

Validated: Validated teams have been contacted within one week of the competition and have confirmed their participation. Validation is necessary in order to perform scheduling. Un-validated teams may not be scheduled for the event. Thus, it is vital to confirm your participation in the final week before the event OR to cancel your registration. Schools that validate but do not show repeatedly may not be allowed to participate in the future. Schools will be put on a probationary list for failing to show and must either show good cause or future follow-through to be removed from the list. A school on probation with teams that fail to participate, after validation, may be suspended.

Validation is necessary to assure that the brackets are set in a fair and structured fashion. Past unannounced cancellations have been detrimental to the smooth flow of the event.
