of the most important highlights this year for the IEEE Dayton Section
is the IEEE - USA Meeting. The IEEE Dayton Section is working closely
with the IEEE Cincinnati Section to organize this event. The IEEE -USA
Student Conference is a major new forum for students, (undergraduate
and graduate), researchers and practitioners interested in
collaborative exploration of theory, design and applications targeting
innovative design. The 2012 theme is "Innovation taking Flight". Our local students from Miami University, University of Dayton, and Wright State University will be attending and presenting papers.

Deborah's
father, Joseph Desch was the focus of a documentary 2006 film, Dayton
Codebreakers. Deborah will highlight the story of her father, who
worked as an NCR engineer, and was in charge of the top secret
codebreaking operations in Dayton during WWII. The story of the Dayton
code breakers survived 50 years of secrecy in part because it woven
with so many threads of world history -- military, diplomatic,
