NSF-CRI: Instrumentation of a Hierarchical Wireless Sensor Network Test-bed for Research and Education Project Website

Welcome to the Wireless Sensor Network Team's Homepage

The objective of this project is to instrument a hierarchical wireless sensor network test-bed for supporting research and education at both undergraduate level and graduate level. The major tasks of the project include: (1) progressively setting up an experimental wireless sensor network that consists of a heterogeneous collection of wireless sensor devices and computing platforms that have different capabilities; (2) using the test-bed to support and conduct research in various areas that are important for wireless sensor networking and education, e.g., localization, detection & tracking, security, query, and quality of service (QoS); (3) attracting undergraduate students and providing them with research experiences, through senior design projects, and involving graduate students through their MS thesis or PhD dissertation work; (4) supporting curriculum innovation and development; (5) disseminating results to a wide population for community and societal benefit.
