Welcome to the
Interactive Systems Modeling and Simulation Laboratory Web Site at
Wright State University. The focus of this research group is on the
development and validation of models of human interaction with complex
engineering systems. We use a model-based approach to design interactive
systems to aid humans in cognitively complex tasks such as planning,
control, decision making, information seeking, and troubleshooting.
Three broad areas within the interdisciplinary nature of this research
group are: interactive simulations, human operator modeling, and human
computer integrated reasoning in complex systems. Domains of application
include logistic systems, production systems, and information retrieval
from heterogeneous multi-media data.
This research laboratory
is directed by Dr. S. Narayanan, who is working with teams comprised of
other faculty, students, and industry collaborators on a wide range of
problems involving interactive systems.
